Hanoi kicks off 2014 National Volunteer Festival

Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in collaboration with Center for Research Informatics on Vietnam’s Voluntary Humanity Source, the United Nations in Vietnam and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to hold the 2014 National Volunteer Festival at Hanoi’s Hoa Binh Park on December 6.

Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in collaboration with Center for Research Informatics on Vietnam’s Voluntary Humanity Source, the United Nations in Vietnam and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to hold the 2014 National Volunteer Festival at Hanoi’s Hoa Binh Park on December 6.

“Joining hand with everyone” is the theme of the 2014 National Volunteer Festival, which was launched globally by the United Nations, aiming to send a message “Volunteer to create change”.
 
Many meaningful activities were also held at the festival, including the anti-violence and anti-discrimination against women programs, campaign for anti-human trafficking and exploitation, introduction of  the anti-human trafficking hot line of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) 1800 1567, blood donation, photography exhibition, drawing competition, raising fund for poor children...
 
On this occasion, the Prime Minister offered certificate for Youth Blood Donation Association in Hanoi. The Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union handed over certificates for 10 outstanding individuals, who have worked in charitable and nonprofit organizations in the northern region with great contributions for the community in 2014.
