An international scientific colloquium will be held at the Goethe-Institute in Hanoi from February 29 to March 2 by Germany’s Kooperationsverbund, in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Culture Heritage and the Goethe-Institute.
The conference will feature 22 lectures on Vietnamese archeology from the Stone Age to the recent past. Special attention will be given to the Dong Son culture in the North, Sa Huynh culture in the Central region and the Oc Eo culture in the South, as well as the current research on the citadel of Thang Long.
Mrs. Sabine von Schorlemmer, the Sachsen State Minister for Science and Arts of the Federal Republic of Germany and leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will attend the event.
The colloquium is part of the German-Vietnam archeology co-operation project. An archeological exhibition on Thang Long Imperial Citadel will take place in Germany during 2014-2015.
