The collection includes valuable works, Kim Van Kieu translated into French by Xuan Phuc and Xuan Viet, published by Gallimard/Unesco in 1961; Kim Van Kieu translated into French by Nguyen Van Vinh, published by LF Les Editions de la Frémillerie in 2017; The Tale of Kieu published by the UK’s JuaHu Books in 2014; Kim Van Kieu translated into French by Nguyen Van Vinh, reprinted by Vietnam’s the Literature Publishing House in 1994; Mélanges sur Nguyen Du by Maurice Durand, published by Efeo Paris in 1966; Kim Van Kieu translated into English by Le Xuan Thuy, released by Vietnam’s the Literature Publishing House in 1994; Kim Van Kieu translated into French by Nguyen Khac Vien, published by Gallimard/Unesco in 1987; Kim Van Kieu translated into French by Xuan Phuc and Xuan Viet, published by Gallimard/Unesco in 1987; Nguyen Du- Literary Commentary by Vu Tien Quynh, relased by Ho Chi Minh City Culture–Literature and Arts Publishing House in 1997.
They were collected in great bookstore, Sudestasie with all things east-Asia in France, and bookshops in Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries by Song Huong’s family.
Huong also handed over a collection of 7 CDS and 7 DVDs featuring “The Tale of Kieu” made into music by musician Quach Vinh Thien.
The collection of books will be displayed at Nguyen Du Special National Historical Relic Site for the public in Tien Dien Commune, Nghi Xuan District, said Mr. Ho Bach Khoa.
Nguyen Du, also known as To Nhu and Thanh Hien, was born in 1765 to a noble family in Thang Long ( Hanoi ).
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) chose the great Vietnamese poet Nguyen Du among other world famous personalities at its 37th General Assembly in Paris in 2013. He was also recognized by the World Peace Council as one of the world’s cultural celebrities in 1965.
Poet Nguyen Du has been recognized by UNESCO for his Truyen Kieu (Tale of Kieu), a masterpiece of Vietnamese classic epic poetry.
Truyen Kieu has the most number of translations in more than 30 languages. The classic literature is a unique work containing verses which are divided into hundreds of short poems.
