A jazz concert featuring Harri Stojka, one of Austria’s greatest jazz musicians, will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The jazz night, which is part of the European Music Festival 2013, will take place at the Youth Theater in Hanoi on November 23 and HCMC Conservatory of Music on November 25.
Harri Stojka will perform with his band members including clarinetist Herbert Berger, guitarists Claudius Jelinek, Gidon Öchsner and Peter Strutzenberger.
Austrian jazz-guitarist Harri Stojka began his career in 1970. He has deep musical roots. He comes from a Roma Gypsy family that surrounded him with rhythm and harmony before he could even talk.
What makes Harri Stojka unique is the mixture of virtuosity and blues feeling, the special drive, phrasing and sound of his gypsy jazz acoustic guitar. He can play many music styles, from pop to avant-garde jazz, from gypsy to be-bop, from hard rock to heavy metal.
In 2006 ‘A Tribute to Swing’ was re-released at ZOHO Music in New York. In Germany it was nominated for the German Music critic’s prize within only a week. With this project, Harri Stojka and band gave two concerts at the Jazz Festival in Montreux, Kahmoro Festival, Sziget Festival Budapest, the famous Django Reinhardt Memorial Festival in Augsburg, Graz Jazz Festival and Jazz Festivals in Jakarta and Yogjjakarta.
He has also performed at Jazz Festivals in Paris, Anger, Prague, London, Barcelona, New Delhi, New York, Syracuse, Montreux and Detroit.
