Free screenings at VN Film Festival

A line-up of 20 Vietnamese movies are being presented during the event, which is part of the 19th Viet Nam Film Festival, which will be held in HCM City from December 1 to 5.

The programme also presents some movies which won several significant awards in both domestic and international film festivals.

Those includes the futuristic mystery Nuoc (2030) by Nguyen Vo Nghiem Minh, which won the Best Feature Film Award from the San Pedro International Film Festival last month; Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung (Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere) by Nguyen Hoang Diep, which was granted the 2014 Venice International Film Critic's Week, the Best Director at the 16th International Film Festival Bratislava in Slovakia, and the Special Prize at the third Ha Noi International Film Festival.

The list also comprises of other high-revenue movies, including Huong Ga (Rise), Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh (I See Yellow Flowers upon the Green Grass), and Scandal - Hao Quang Tro Lai (Scandal 2).

The movie Song Cung Lich Su (Living with History) by noted director Nguyen Thanh Van, which portrays the journey of a group of young people to Dien Bien Province after getting to know about the historical Dien Bien Phu Victory through documentaries and other sources, also is on the screening schedule.

Cinema-goers can enjoy all those movies at National Cinema Centre, 87 Lang Ha Street in Ha Noi, or Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu Street in Da Nang, until November 24.
