The first national Fruit Festival will be held in the Mekong Delta Province of Tien Giang from April 19 to 24.
The event aims to promote Vietnamese fruit, agricultural products and ecological tourism to the world, as well as honor farmers, scientists and enterprises in the Mekong Delta region.
The festival includes more than 700 display booths presenting hundreds of fruits from various regions of the country, seminars on developing trademarks for the Vietnamese fruits on the world market, song and dance performances, and sports competitions.
The event is also an occasion for local and foreign visitors to sample Vietnamese fruit specialties and provides farmers, scientists and entrepreneurs a chance to share their experiences in producing, preserving and processing fruit products, and to seek partners to expand markets.
