The first Asia-Pacific Poetry Festival titled “Poetry for a peaceful, cooperative and developed Asia-Pacific” will be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh from February 1-4, according to poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Vice President of the Festival Committee.
More than 80 foreign poets including well-known names such as Kim Jung Hwan, Kim Jae Hong from South Korea; Ed Tick and ERC Wendy from the US; Jidi Majia from China and many others will participate in the event.
The organization committee will select 40-50 local poets to take part in the festival.
The festival will include various activities including a flower and incense offering ceremony to King and poet Le Thanh Tong at the base of Bai Tho Mountain, poetry reading and a seminar on poetry.
The festival is an opportunity for the country to promote Vietnam’s landscapes to its international friends.
