The Labor Union of Ho Chi Minh City presented gifts to 158 disabled laborers and victims of accidents at work, in a meeting on May 1.
Truong Lam Danh, Deputy Chairman of the City Labor Union, expressed his appreciation of the laborers’ contribution towards the development of businesses’ as well as towards the City.
He said that the union always remained open to laborers’ opinions and needs and hoped that the disabled laborers would be able to overcome their difficulties.
He also asked local authorities and businesses to support disabled laborers both emotionally and physically.
The union gave away gifts worth VND300, 000 to each labourer. Vinatex supermarket also offered gifts to the laborers.
On the same day, the union and the City Labor Culture House announced a plan to organize an art performance to raise funds to help those laborers who suffered from life threatening diseases.
