A beauty contest honoring Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dresses) will take place in Ho Chi Minh City in March.

The Charming Ao Dai contest will open to all women from 15 years old to 35.
The pageant’s jury includes Miss Vietnam 2014 Ky Duyen, country’s leading Ao dai designer Sy Hoang and photographer Pham Hoai Nam.
The beauty contest is one of the cultural activities of the annual Ao Dai Festival which will be organized in the city from March 5 to 20 to celebrate international Women’ Day.
The festival will include a series of activities including an exhibition titled ‘Ao Dai through the Ages’, a Ao Dai fair, Ao Dai deisgn contest and Ao Dai photo competition at the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, Ao Dai museum, War Remnants Museum, Chi Lang Park in Dong Khoi Street .
Started in 2014, the event aims to honor the culture of traditional Vietnamese dresses during different periods of time and promote Ao Dai to local and foreign visitors.
