According to the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, the tropical typhoon killed nine people in the provinces of Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien- Hue while four others were reported missing.
Around 112 injured persons, 1,185 collapsed houses and 152, 599 destroyed houses were reported in the natural disaster.
Additionally, big waves sunk 200 fishing boats under the water.
On the same day, Vietnam Red Cross Society called on staffs, officials, youth and volunteers of organizations and companies to help the typhoon victims after this year’s tenth typhoon hitting the central provinces of Vietnam
Currently, the functional forces have collaborated with local authorities to help residents to repair their houses, clean uprooted along roads and strengthen dyke systems.
Amid to infectious diseases caused by the typhoon, the Ha Tinh Preventive Health Center provided the large number of chemicals to kill mosquitos, and instructed districts to clear water containers to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs.
The Thanh Hoa Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue reported that typhoon Doksuri destroyed kilometers of dyke systems
Initial statistics showed that the natural disaster caused property losses of VND 1,000 billion.
The north- central province of Nghe An also suggested the Prime Minister to support VND 300 billion for the local people to prepare the destroyed dyke system and infrastructures.
The central province of Quang Binh reported more than 16,000 hectares of rubber crops were damaged in the typhoon.
