The Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) from the US, known as ‘Ambassadors of Harmony’, will travel to Vietnam for performances in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The chorus will present to music lovers an exclusive collection of songs which they have performed all over the world, such as Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Round, Africa, Dreams, and We sing.

Their performances offer a message of peace and a strong belief that the power and joy of music can unite people whose ancestries come from multiple races and create positive social changes.

The BCC will also participate in many activities during the visit in Vietnam, such as a meeting with their host families ‘A O Show’, a special Vietnamese cultural program that will give American children a chance to learn about Vietnam and its culture of friendliness, kindness, warmth and love.

Founded in 2003, the BCC currently has nearly 500 members from Boston neighborhoods. All the graduates of BCC have gone on to prestigious colleges like Harvard, Stanford, New York University and Berkeley College of Music.

The Boston Children’s Chorus not only has a pro-high performance but it is also regarded as a peace symbol in the City of Boston. The chorus performed in a ceremony to commemorate the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing in April together with famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, in front of President Barack Obama to live audiences around the world.

The chorus has performed in many countries. It won the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence from Chorus America in 2011.

Pianist Trang Trinh, representative of Charles Ansbacher Musical Club in Vietnam, an organizing collaborator, said “As the voice of harmony and love, The Boston Children’s Chorus surely will bring unforgettable happiness to the Vietnamese. The performances are expected to be a special public cultural event.”

The event is being co-organized by the Vietnam National Opera Ballet, in collaboration with GafimCulture and Charles Ansbacher Musical Club and partnership with Tran Nhan Tong Academy.

The concert titled ‘One world-One voice’ will take place at the City Opera House on June 26 and Hanoi Opera House on June 29.

Tickets will be given free to the public.
