Vietnam Railways said it will install flush toilets in all of its express trains by 2015 and in all trains by 2020.
At present, there are about 100 new-generation cars installed with Microphor toilet systems, which cost about VND200 million (US$11,000) each, to ensure environmental hygiene.
The number of carriages fitted out with the toilet systems, however, is still small compared to the total number of carriages daily operating on routes around the country.
