All Libyan evacuees to find employment

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has announced that over 10,000 of the workers evacuated from Libya would be offered jobs by many companies that have proposed to employ them.

Viglacera Corporation revealed that it would need about 1,000 workers this year in its associate companies. Any person who has just returned from Libya can directly contact the company management for further guidance and consultation.

Since the end of February, Toan Phat Construction Company located in Dong Da District of Hanoi has also offered to recruit 40 engineers on a US$350-1,000 per month salary and also 350 technical workers on a US$200-250 per month salary.

Meanwhile, Vinaconex 6 Construction Company is in demand of 3,000 workers. Several other companies like Cau Duong Joint Stock and Hoa Phat Furniture also announced their willingness to employ workers from Libya.

As soon as the evacuees returned home, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs decided to assist each of them with VND1 million. Businesses also support them with the same amount so that they can return to their hometowns.

In Hanoi, the People’s Committee has flexed the budget to help each of the Hanoians returning from Libya with VND1 million. The city administration also instructed the Bank for Social Policies to give a two year extension on the duration of loans for those who had borrowed earlier to find work in Libya.

To any person needing a loan to find jobs or study further for a career, the city People’s Committee would offer full assistance.

According to Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the former Minister of Labor, War invalids and Social Affairs, the steering committee on Vietnamese people in Libya has recently met to discuss job provision and policies to help all the evacuees.

On Friday, she visited and worked with the Khang Thong Group in the Mekong Delta Province of Long An and discussed the employment for people coming back from Libya.

Phan Thi Phuong Thao, the group chairwoman and general director reported the company had completed the preparation of accommodation for over 2,000 workers.

The group has pledged to recruit the entire 10,000 people returning from Libya to work in its Happyland project with the salary and position suitable to each person’s ability.

The project currently needs about 26,000 employees, most of whom being construction-trained workers.
