A concert titled “A German night” featuring by violinist Dr. Felix Olschofka and pianist Dr. Eun Young Joo will take place at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on November 11.
German-born and raised violinist, Dr. Felix Olschofka, has toured as soloist, concertmaster and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. His performances have been recorded and released by several radio and TV broadcasting stations such as NPR (USA), KBS (South-Korea), Megavision and ATB (South America), NRPR (Rumania), Deutsche Welle, ZDF, and WDR (Germany).
Olschofka holds a Bachelor and Master degree from the Music Conservatory “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin (Germany), a Performance Certificate from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Doctorate from the University of California San Diego, combining the best of both cultural worlds in his performing and teaching.
Pianist Eun-Young Joo graduated with distinction from the Vienna State Conservatory in 2000. She got a doctoral degree with highest mark from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in 2007. She has given many solo recitals in Seoul, Europe, USA, and Vietnam, and performs with many orchestras such as Vivaldi Chamber Orchestra (Moscow), Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Moscow), Wien Academy Chamber Orchestra (Vienna), Korean Symphony Orchestra (Seoul), and HBSO (Hochiminh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera – Vietnam). She is now a lecturer of master courses at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
