This year, nearly 300 firms are nominated by 30 fatherland fronts and the departments of industry and trade, associations across the country. Some of them nominated themselves.
The organizer selected 96 outstanding firms to give prize; of which, ten were put into top ten good Vietnamese commodities; ten of them won the title of good firms in providing best services.
In the ceremony, on behalf of the government, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue highly lauded firms which promised to use locally-made products and improved service quality. Moreover, these firms were praised for continuously struggling fight against low-quality commodities which badly affected Vietnamese goods.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highly appreciated intellectual consumers who support Vietnamese good commodities and send their feedback of domestic goods. They greatly contributed to the success of the campaign.
Mr . Hue stressed that firms and businesspersons should try more to overcome challenges and difficulties. Firms should adopt new techniques, management methodologies, designs, diversify their services and goods; plus, they have to promote marketing to raise information of Vietnamese goods to consumers.
President of the Central Committee of Fatherland Front of Vietnam cum head of the steering board of the campaign said that after eight years, a study carried out by a public opinion research center under the Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education showed that 92 percent of consumers pay much heed to the campaign while 63 percent will buy Vietnamese goods as top priority and 54 percent advise their relatives and friends to use local kinds on shopping. It proved that Vietnamese consumers prefer local commodities which are sold in 9,000 subsidized stores.
