15 articles win the writing competition of “Nhung tam guong binh di ma cao quy “(Simple but honorable examples) for the sixth time, the organizer – Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper announced on June 4 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The awarding ceremony will be held in Ben Thanh Theater in HCMC’s district 1 on June 9 along with musical performance “Tron doi theo Bac” (Following Uncle’s Ho for the whole life).
The first prize is given to the article about two veterans who destroyed their houses to donate land for the Government’s New Rural Development Plan to upgrade agricultural techniques, improve farmers’ lives and develop rural infrastructure. The article was sent by author Nguyen Thi Huong from Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Author Thien An from Lao Dong (Labor) Newspaper in the southern province of Dong Nai and Hoang Giang- Cong Minh from Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper captured the second prizes with writing works Bua mi trua ( Breads for lunch) and “Nguoi bi thu di dau va dung dau o nga ba bien gioi” ( The party secretary who is always go-ahead in the border gate) respectively.
The three works won the third prizes including “Nhung nguoi tao nen thuong hieu dau khi Vietnam “ (Those who make Brand Name of Vietnamese Oil) of author Xuan Ba from Tien Phong newspaper; “Tu nguoi binh tro thanh thay thuoc” ( From patient becomes a doctor) of author Nguyen Manh Dung from Army No.3 newspaper; and “Ong chu rung noi cua bien” ( Master of Jungle in the seaport of writer Nguyen Xuan Dieu in the central province of Ha Tinh.
In addition, 9 encouragement prizes will be given and one collection prize will be awarded to young communist members of Cong An Nhan Dan (People’s Police) institute under the Ministry of Public Security who have sent many entries to the organizing board.
The competition was launched on February 1, 2014, the organizer received more than 200 entries writing hundreds of exemplary persons who are making good for the community and have good effects on the society.
