According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuc, Director of the Authority of Information Technology Application under the Ministry of Information and Communications, among the 3 criteria in the evaluation, Vietnam achieved the highest point in online administrative services, followed by human resources and telecommunications infrastructure.
As stated by a representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, at the moment, the national databases on agriculture, finance, population, and land management has not yet been completed. In addition, the database of online administrative services has not been interconnected, and thus cannot promote either the sharing ability or the unity feature. As a result, when citizens want to carry out a procedure, they have to fill in their information many times.
In the near future, the Ministry of Information and Communication aims at having 30 percent of all online administrative services reach level 4, which means citizens do not need to visit any state office to go through a procedure, 30 percent of people’s information automatically filled in online forms when they ask for administrative formalities, and 50 percent of online services are processed via digital documents.
