The project aims to meet increasing travel demand; reduce traffic accidents on the National Highway 4D, shorten travel time from Lao Cai to Sapa and vice versa.
It is also to enhance the efficiency of the Noi Bai –Lao Cai expressway, boosting to develop socioeconomic, defense security in the north western region in general and Lao Cai province in particular, meeting the national transport development strategy.
The BOT project has total investment capital of up to VND 2,5trillion and is divided 2 phases: the 1st phase (2018 to 2020) and the second phase (after 2020).
As the project is finished, travel time between Hanoi and Sapa town will be shortened.
