The passengers are under-18-year-old students, the elderly and people with disadvantaged circumstances being supported by the Vietnam Embassy in the UK.
In the departing air route, Vietnam Airlines transported more than 100 passengers with British nationality being trapped in Vietnam and Cambodia home due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The UK Embassy in the capital city of Hanoi had contacted and coordinated with Vietnamese authorities to perform this special flight.
Departing from Phnom Penh capital of Cambodia at the night of April 13, the flight arrived in Hanoi to receive additional British citizens to London.
Most of the passengers were travelers, including some Covid-19 cases being well treated in Vietnam.
The ground-based and on-flight medical services are strictly in accordance with the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and protection regulations.
All passengers had their body temperature and health checked before getting aboard and wore facial masks during the flight.
Besides that, all the crew members in the flight were equipped with full-body medical protective gears.
After arriving in Vietnam, passengers will be sent to isolated areas to have their health monitored and disinfection of aircrafts and cabin will be immediately implemented right.
Under the Prime Minister’s direction, the functional agencies currently continue reviewing, proposing plans, coordinating with Vietnam Airlines to transport some Vietnamese living abroad to return home because of special reasons with the priority of children under 18 years old, the elderly and the sick person.
Accordingly, the national flag carrier recently performed two special flights bringing Vietnamese and the UK citizens home.
This is the sixth flight of Vietnam Airlines to bring Vietnamese citizens being trapped in the foreign countries home.
