Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rebounded the second trading session to close week in light note on June 29 as some blue-chip stocks recovered.

The gauge which tracks 302 companies and six mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange rose 1.01 percent, or 4.21 points, to close at 422.37 points.

Across the benchmark, 171 stocks climbed, 72 retreated, while 65 remained unchanged.

Trading on the city bourse improved by nearly 30 percent in volume, and 37 percent in value over the previous trading session as more than 55.75 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND1.06 trillion.

Duc Long Gia Lai Group Joint Stock Company (DLG) was the most active share in volume with 1.27 million shares changing hands.

Sacom Development & Investment Corporation (SAM) stayed at second place for a second day with 1.15 million shares.

Tan Tao Investment Industrial Joint Stock Company (ITA) was the third runner-up with 987,010 shares traded.

Vinaship Joint Stock Company (VNH) rocketed 5 percent to close at VND4,200.

Song Da Urban & Industrial Zone Investment & Development Joint Stock Company (SJS) emerged 4.97 percent to close at VND35,900.

Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHG), and Vinh Long Cereal and Food Corporation (VLF) both strengthened 4.96 percent to close at VND63,500, and VND12,700 respectively.

Meca Vneco Investment & Electricity Construction Joint Stock Company (VES) cut 5 percent to close at VND1,900.

Sacombank Securities Joint Stock Company (SBS) extended its losing streak to seven consecutive trading sessions, losing 4.88 percent to close at VND3,900.

Ninh Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company (NHS) corrected 4.8 percent to close at VND23,800.

The VN30 Index - a free-float adjusted, market cap-weighted index of 30 stocks with the highest market value and liquidity on the exchange – restored 6.02 points, or 1.22 percent, to end at 497.73. Among its 30 members, 18 stocks gained, 1 lost, and 11 remained unmoved.

Hanoi’s HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north contracted 0.41 percent, or 0.29 points, to close at 71.07 points with 125 winners, 99 losers, and 77 stocks treading water. Around 27.23 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND275.1 billion.

Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares mounted 0.22 percent, or 0.08 points, to close at 36.49 points. A total of 471,598 shares changed hands at VND3.14 billion.
