Vietnam’s seafood export sees good signs

Vietnamese shrimp export has seen positive signs in first two months of the year, reported the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

After 2015- the gloomy year of business, the sector has achieved good positive results just in the first two months of the year. The total seafood exports to the US and Hong Kong (China) grew by 36 percent  yet it slightly decreased by 1.8 percent; 2.4 percent; 0,6 percent; 17.3 percent; and 2.5 percent in markets such as the EU, Japan, South Korea, Canada and Asian countries respectively.

Hong Kong (China) is becoming the second largest market for Vietnamese shrimp export with shrimp export value to US$64.8 percent, accounting for 17.1 percent of total exports.

In total shrimp export, the rate of white-legged shrimp is 65.1 percent; prawn 35.8 percent and sea shrimp 8.1 percent.
