Nguyen Anh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam net Online Newspaper tendered his resignation on March 2 to the Ministry of Information and Communication.
Earlier, the editorial staff and reporters of Vietnam net were informed of Tuan’s decision.
Tuan said his decision was perfectly normal and had been prepared a few months ago as he wished to spend more time to concentrate on his new job at a prestigious university in America.
Before his appointment as leader of Vietnam net, Tuan was deputy director of VDC in Hanoi.
He was instrumental in developing Vietnam net in its initial stages. At that time, he was both Vietnam net’s editor-in-chief and director of VASC, a service company under the state monopoly of Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group.
Tuan continued as editor-in-chief of Vietnam net when the management of the paper was transferred to the Ministry of Information and Communication in 2008.
