Vietnam is striving to raise the per capita income of the poor by 3.5 folds and reduce the number of poor households by 2 percent by 2020.
These targets were set in a resolution issued by the Government yesterday on poverty alleviation for the phase 2011-2020.
Accordingly, the Government will improve the lives of the poor in various fields and strengthen investments in infrastructure in disadvantageous areas.
The Government will also implement many policies to boost production and create jobs and training programs for the poor.
