The Landmark 635 at the La Lay border gate between Quang Tri Province in Vietnam and Salavan Province in Laos was inaugurated on May 16.
The construction of the landmark began on September 3, 2010. It is one of the 16 major landmarks along the Vietnam-Laos border and the only one between Quang Tri and Salavan Provinces.
The two provinces have committed to work closely with each other to complete the landmark planning by 2012.
Quang Tri Province is the first of the ten Vietnamese provinces that border Laos to carry out planning of landmarks. Over the past two years, 31 out of 35 landmarks between Quang Tri and Savanakhet provinces have been constructed.
