Vietnam jujitsu team wins 21 golds on opening day of Asian Championships 2026

Vietnam’s jujitsu team won 21 gold medals on the opening day of the 2026 Southeast Asian Jujitsu Championships.

Vietnam jujitsu coach Bui Dinh Tien said many athletes performed well in the youth events on the opening day and achieved encouraging results.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Southeast Asian Jujitsu Championships was held in Cambodia on the evening of August 21. On the first day of competition, Vietnamese athletes won 61 medals, including 21 golds, 20 silvers and 20 bronzes.

The championships have attracted 504 athletes from eight Southeast Asian countries.

With 21 golds, Vietnam currently leads the medal tally, followed by hosts Cambodia, the Philippines and Singapore.

More than 80 Vietnamese jujitsu athletes are competing at this year’s championships.
