State President of Vietnam Mr.Tran Dai Quang yesterday received Prof. Carlos Alberto, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Chairman in Global Citizenship Education Program and professor of the U.S California University at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi as Prof. Alberto paid an official visit and working in the Southeast Asian country.
At the meeting, the Vietnamese president stressed that the human resource development is considered as one of practical measures aiming to raise the national competitive ability and one of priority policies for the country’s development.
The President highly appreciated the UNESCO’s global citizenship education program, hoping that the program will continue being successful on general awareness and sustainable development of the United Nations’ member countries.
This year, Vietnam will introduce its candidate into General Director of UNESCO in the working term of 2017- 2021 therefore, the country expects to receive supports from international friends.
