High smoke from the blaze rose tens of meter from the market panicking many people.
According to initial information, the fire started at 2.20 PM in the market and firemen put out it at 4PM to curb it spread to residents’ houses.
No casualty was reported but the inferno wrecks destroyed all commodities in hundreds of booth in the area of over 1,000 meter square.
Witnesses said that the flame started so quickly that they could not move their commodities out of the booth but managed to escape.
Head of Thanh Tri Ditrict Police station Colonel Nguyen The Hung said that the fire began from a store to sell pillow in the first floor and then spread to next store which sell votive paper. The fire broke out fiercely in the first floor and then the second floor.
In the time, no one was inside the pillow shop at the time, and no one was injured by the fire. Customers and merchants tried to escape the market.
