U.S. hopes to become No.1 investor in Vietnam

The U.S. hoped to become number 1 investor in Vietnam after the under negotiation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) will be signed, said U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius at the talk with chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan yesterday.

Relevant nations have completed 90 percent of the agreement’s negotiations so far and Many American investors have expressed their attention to Vietnamese market, he added.
 
The ambassador said that the U.S. and Vietnam have had similar points of view over the East Sea issue and the U.S advocated peaceful measures via diplomatic channels and international laws in solving conflicts in the East Sea.
 
On his part, Mr. Nhan said that Vietnam treasured comprehensive partnership relations with the U.S. and considered the country to be top important partner in foreign relation policies.

Vietnam’s policy is to boost the wide and deep cooperation with the U.S. in not only bilateral scale but also regional and global range.
 
The relationship between the two countries has been stable for 20 years since the two sides normalized the relationship, he said.
 
The visit by Communist Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the U.S. on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of VN-U.S. relation normalization and visits by National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and President Truong Tan Sang to the U.S. in the coming time proved the stable relationship, he added.
 
Mr. Nhan appreciated U.S. rebalance policies to the Asia-Pacific, which has contributed to peace, stabilization and development of the region.
 
Vietnam would be more active to attend in peace-keeping activities of the United Nations, he affirmed.
