Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong yesterday received Lord David Terence Puttnam, UK Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy of the United Kingdom to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong stressed: “The city is always interested in infrastructure development which is a vital factor for strengthening sustainable development of the city in future.”
Targeting developing the city as the leading economic, financial and science & technology center of the Southeast Asian region, the city’s leader expressed the hope that Mr. David Terence Puttnam would play an important role in calling investors from the UK to the city.
The city will continue to create favorable investment environment to attract more foreign companies, including the UK enterprises, added the chairman.
Lord David Terence Puttnam expressed his belief that high quality human resources of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular will develop further in the next few years. He said the UK is ready to support for the city’s human resource, technology and infrastructure development strategy.
