Of whom, 953 were victims of traffic crashes, 775 suffered accidents from daily activities while 207 people were taken to infirmaries after a fight with other. Additionally, 29 people were food poisoning victims and 4,794 cases of different reasons.
Worse, most emergency cases were rushed to hospitals on April 30.
For instance, the emergency department of People’s hospital 115 April 29 received 269 patients including 33 traffic accident victims. In the next day, the hospital received 297 cases with 34 traffic accident victims and by May 1 afternoon, 111 people were hospitalized in the department.
Meantime, the emergency center 115 reported no cases on April 28 and 29. However, on April 30, it admitted traffic accident victims. After providing first-aid to victims, the center transferred them to hospitals such as People’s hospital 115 and Trung Vuong hospital.
While Cho Ray hospital had 854 cases of emergency in three days with over 15 percent of traffic accident victims, said Dr. Le Phuoc Dai from the hospital’s emergency department.
Traffic accident victims were transferred from district medical clinics because of serious injuries. Compared to previous years, the rate of emergency cases maintained the same; nevertheless, more patients were transferred to the hospital from provincial infirmaries after May 1, Dr. Le Phuoc Dai supposed.
