The Ministry of Health yesterday issued a circular No. 15/2018/TT-BYT to set prices of treatment services in all same class hospitals nationwide. Besides, it gave guidelines for some special cases.
According to the circular, the Ministry adjusted 88 prices of medical services, bed charges in hospitals and clinics, and cost of scan, MRI, CT scanner, PET-CT.
Director of the ministry's department of finance and planning Nguyen Nam Lien said that treatment charge will plunge by 15-20 percent (or VND4,800 – 5,900). As per the circular, treatment cost in first-class hospital decreases from VND39,000 ($1.7) to VND33,100 while it will fall from VND35,000 to VND29,600 in second-class facility and from VND29,000 to VND23,300.
Bed prices will drop from VND632,200 to VND615,600 in first-class infirmaries and from VND226,000 to VND221,200 in four-class infirmaries in intensive care units or anti-poison department.
However, bed charge in largest hospitals’ intensive care units and organ transplant department will hike from VND677,200 to VND687,100.
Noticeably, medical technique charges of cutting tonsils with electric knife and AVF are down from VND3.6 million to VND2 million; from VND7.2 million to VND3.6 million. ENT endoscopy will plummet double.
The circular will take effect on July 15, 2018.
