The provincial immigration department said in two first working day of the lunar new year, there had been a dramatic rise of passport applicants.
Statistically, around 700-800 applicants queued in the department on February 11 and it leaped to 1,000 applicants on the next day. According to the department, some of Ha Tinh locals normally applied for extending their passport or traveling, and most of passport applicants are going to work abroad.
All staffs of the department had to work relentlessly to solve all applications as well as provide detailed explanations to people to help them not pay for decoys who promised to finish the services.
One of leaders of the department said that in the first working days of the Year of the Pig, demand of passport application is very high. Therefore, the department has increased more staffs and adopted IT for the best service.
Additionally, the department has worked with the People’s Committee in Bac Ha Ward where the department is located to ensure social order in the department’s premises.
