The 2013 Vo Truong Toan Awards were given to 30 outstanding teachers at the City Hall in Ho Chi Minh City on November 17 to mark Vietnam Teacher’s Day on November 20.

Out of 70,000 teachers nominated from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational schools and colleges throughout the City for the 16th Vo Truong Toan Awards, the organizers selected 30 of the most outstanding teachers to receive the award.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Hong Son, Director of Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City, hailed the teachers for their invaluable contributions.
Launched in 1998, the ‘Vo Truong Toan Award’ has been conferred on 480 teachers so far. They have overcome difficulties and challenges in working and living to be excellent examples for their colleagues and students.
Hua Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee, highly appreciated the award which is organized by the City Department of Education and Training, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Life Insurer Prudential Vietnam for the last 16 years.
