Loving the motherland and its people, Studying well and working hard, Uniting and keeping discipline, Maintaining hygiene, and Being modest, honest and brave are the five precepts President Ho Chi Minh set out for teenagers and children, saying it was the way for them to contribute to the war.

Tasked with appraising if the school is inculcating a “civilized urban” lifestyle in its students, the city inspectors told its authorities the best way to motivate children is through national school campaigns like “clean and nice classes”, “clean, nice and safe school gates”, “planting trees”, and “taking care of plants and trees.”

The civilized urban lifestyle campaign was adopted by HCMC last year for all its residents.

The inspectors also said schools should organize public voluntary work for students to increase their awareness of the need to protect public property.
