According to the Student Assistance Center in Ho Chi Minh City, in the last one month the student program to support incoming candidates has helped more than 163,379 outstation candidates during the University Entrance Exams.
The program has offered not only 33,682 place lodgings including more than 7,000 free rooms but also 40,000 bus tickets and 46,300 free meals. In particular, the hot line 19006836 has daily replied to more than 3,182 incoming calls of candidates and their relatives who lost essential documents.
Currently, 3,000 student volunteers are gathered at bus stations such as Eastern bus station, Western bus station, Cho Lon bus station, An Suong bus station, Nga Tu Ga coach station, Saigon train station, to welcome and help newcomers coming to the City for the second phase of the University Entrance Exams.
In related news, on the same day, Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center offered free vegetarian meals to thousands of disadvantaged candidates and their relatives in Hue City.
HCMC Marketing University in collaboration with enterprises and Buddhists of City pagodas offered more than 10,000 free meals for incoming candidates and their relatives in the first phase of the exams.
