Solid waste treatment complex inaugurated in Binh Duong Province

The Binh Duong Water Supply-Sewerage-Environment Co., Ltd on September 20 inaugurated the first stage of the South Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Ben Cat District, to tackle and reduce environmental pollution in Binh Duong Province and neighboring areas.

The Binh Duong Water Supply-Sewerage-Environment Co., Ltd on September 20 inaugurated the first stage of the South Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Ben Cat District, to tackle and reduce environmental pollution in Binh Duong Province and neighboring areas.

The treatment complex covers an area of more than 74 hectares with a total investment of around Euro 16 million, of which 57.24 percent came from local budget and 42.76 percent from official development assistance from the Government of Finland.

The complex comprises of two main sections: a section to treat and recycle residential waste into compost, with a compost manufacturing plant with capacity to recycle 420 tons waste per day; and a waste water treatment plant with capacity for 960 cubic meters per hour. There is also a section to treat industrial and hazardous waste with capacity for 150 tons per day, and also 300 kilograms of medical waste per hour.
