The Department of Education and Training in the Mekong delta province of Soc Trang awarded prizes of “Prudential – Van hay chu tot” (Prudential-Good Essay, Good Writing” contest.
The Department launched the contests with 66 participants who won the qualifying round in the province's districts and towns. 6 and 7 grader candidates were asked to write a story of daily life which impressed them most while 8 and 9 grader participants wrote an essay of the thoughts about the relationship of giving and receiving in the life after they read a passage quoted from a book Gifts of Life.
After 120 minutes, candidates finished writing contest. The organizer awarded the first prize of the 6, 7 grader group to Ngo Thanh Tu and the first prize of 8,9 grader group to Mach Ly Kieu Anh. Both winners are students of Phu Loc Senior High School in Thanh Tri District. The organizer also awarded some encouragement prizes to contestants with high marks.
The winners will partake in the contest for the Mekong delta region which is scheduled to take place in Ben Tre province in November.
