Nguyen Duc Chung, chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, August 24 said at a meeting with relevant agencies over extension of curfew for nightclubs and bars after midnight in some sections in Hanoi.
Mr. Chung said that Hanoi will lift mandatory closing times from midnight to 2:00 am for bars and nightclubs as pilot scheme. However, the extended closing time is only applicable to restaurants and nightclubs in Hoan Kiem District from Friday to Sunday weekly starting in September 1.
Hanoi People’s Committee Chairman asked businesses which are allowed to operate after midnight to follow safety and security requirements. They are also required not to disturb local residents and not to sell alcohol and tobacco to teenagers.
