Vessel CSB 9002 of the marine police force towed the fishing boat QN 91594 with 12 fishermen on board after it suffered engine failure and went adrift 320 sea miles east northeast of Quang Nam Province since June 17.

Fisherman Tran Tuan, 35, from Nui Thanh District, said that even thought the boat had been located; it could not be rescued as huge waves cut off access. As a result, the boat had to be provided food and other provisions with the help of ropes, while they waited for the sea to calm.

Hundreds of local people and marine policemen were present at the port to welcome back the fishermen.
