The Emulation, Commendation and Reward Committee of the north central province of Quang Binh has set up a file to propose President Truong Tan Sang to confer the Medal of Labor, Class 3 on two Phong Nha-Ke Bang explorers.

The statement was made by Mr. Dang Phuc Due, deputy head of the committee’s permanent board on July 23.
Local man Ho Khanh and British explorer Howard Limbert have made great contributions in discovery of the cave system including the world largest cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, he said.
Mr.Khanh has helped the explorer team from the British Royal Cave Research Association led by Mr. Limbert find out hundreds of caves in Phong Nha-Ke Bang.
Among them is 31.4km Thien Duong (Heaven) Cave, 18km Khe Ry Cave and En Cave.
The local explorer is also the first person who discovered Son Doong, the world largest cave, in 1991 and took the team to explore it in 2009.
