Prince of Netherlands and his wife visit HCMC

Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife, Princess Maxima, accompanied a delegation of over 100 Dutch businessmen, who are seeking business cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam, to pay an official visit to Ho Chi Minh City this week.

Le Hoang Quan, chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, warmly welcomed the group, saying the cooperation between the two countries is growing strongly.

Quan expressed the appreciation of Netherlands’ programs helping reduce the impacts of climate changes in the city.

He also expects Princess Maxima, as the United Nation Secretary General Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, will help train Vietnam’s financial experts.

Prince Willem Alexander said Vietnam’s economy has been improved since his last visit five years ago, with HCMC being the economic hub of the country.

He also said Netherlands will cooperate with Vietnam in five priority sectors, including water processing, agriculture, transportation, logistics, maritime and oil.

There are 55 investment projects of Netherlands in HCMC. Statistics show the trade turnover of the city into Netherlands reached over US$200 million.
