Vietnam’s standing Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has been re-elected for a second term after winning 94 percent of votes Tuesday during the 13th assembly first session.

Mr. Dung, 62 years old, has been the Prime Minister since 2006. He has also been the Chairman of the Central Steering Board for Anti-Corruption.
Before becoming the Prime Minister, Mr. Dung had served as the standing Deputy PM and member of the Politburo since December 1997, according to the news website VietNamNet.
He was also appointed as the governor of the State Bank of Vietnam in the period between 1998 and 1999.
The NA also re-elected standing Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan for the 2011-2016 term, with 95.2 percent of votes. Ms. Doan, 60 years old, is a holder of economic doctoral degree.
Standing Chief Judge Truong Hoa Binh of the Supreme People's Court, has been re-appointed for a second term after winning 96.2 percent of votes.
Mr. Binh, 56 years old and a master of law, has been a NA deputy for 20 years.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee of the central province of Quang Ngai, has become the Chairman of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office for the first time after winning 93.8 percent of votes.
Before becoming the Chairman of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, the 56-year-old secretary, who is a holder of law doctoral degree, has been the deputy head of the Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security.
Last Saturday, Vietnam’s standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has become the 13th National Assembly Chairman as winning 91.4 percent of votes during the assembly’s first session.
Mr. Truong Tan Sang, politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, was elected new State President by the National Assembly with 97.4 percent of the votes on Monday.
The first session of the 13th National Assembly started Thursday and is set to close on August 6.
