PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Belgium Ambassador

Ambassador of the Republic of the Kingdom of Belgium Paul Jansen had meeting withVietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday on the occasion of he received the working term in Vietnam.

At the meeting with the newly-appointed ambassador, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Belgium has blossomed as well as harvested good multifaceted achievements in previous time. 

Two-way trade turnover between the two nations hit US$ 2.3 billion in the first ten months of the year; however, the figure remains modest and not to adequate compared to great potentials of both countries. 

The Vietnamese leader suggested the ambassador would affirm his role as a bridge to boost and raise two- way trade turnover up US$ 3 billion in upcoming time. 

He also added that Viet Nam had been well-prepared for the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and hoped that the partner would play an important role to push EU to soon sign and ratify the agreement. 

Ambassador Paul Jansen also said that Belgian businesses desired to receive favorable conditions to not only expand investment but also seek new business opportunities in the Vietnamese market; and he suggested the Vietnamese Government to open exemption of entry visa for Belgian citizen contributing to promote tourism and cultural exchange.
