On behalf of the government and the Party, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc December 3 congratulated 40 students who won national and international competitions.
At the meeting, PM Phuc lauded excellent students, teachers and parents who accompanies with students in learning. PM Phuc expressed his gratitude to teachers who devoted their time and hearts to cultivate good students who brightened Vietnam’s image in international competitions.
PM Phuc said that students’ achievements bring pride to the nation, especially, he praised students who won gold medals in Olympiad competition.
He proposed the education sector revamping more especially in higher education to attract world culturists, businesspersons to the country.
On the occasion, three students were awarded the Third Labor Medals and five students were granted certificates of merit from the PM.
On the same day, in the house of National Assembly, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong met students who won medals in Olympiad and students who are tops in the national high school graduation in 2016. The Deputy Chairwoman expected these students not only to learn well to capture knowledge of culture, technologies but also learn to be good people.
Excelent students had made a sightseeing tour in Presidential Palace Historical Site where Vietnamese late President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during most of his revolutionary life.
In 2016, Vietnam sent seven teams comprising of 28 students to international Physics, Chemistry Biology, Maths, IT Olympiad and 27 of them had captured prizes.
Students bagged eight gold medals, nine silver medals and five bronze medals from Olympiad competitions. This year is the first year all teams partaking in Olympiad competitions grasped gold medals.
