Statistically, total number of international holiday-makers arriving in the country in eight months of the year reached over 8,4 million, a leap of 29.7 percent compared to same period last year.
If the figure of visitors continued to rise along with concerted efforts to boost tourism, it is hoped that Vietnam will welcome 13 million international tourists in 2017, achieving the set target.
The statistic also showed local tourists reached 52.8 million in eight months. The tourism sector’s revenue reached VND335,840 billion, 26.7 percent higher than same period last year.
As per the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)’s report, Vietnam is becoming interesting destinations of international travelers. The Southeast Asian nation is ranked tenth position in the index of top emerging destinations for international tourists, according to UNWTO’s survey.
Especially, the globally famous tourism web TripAdvisor announced ten interesting destinations in Vietnam selected by tourists. The central province of Quang Binh rose to the fourth place after UNESCO-recognized natural heritage site of Hoi An town, Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
