Last year, total aquaculture output of Vietnam reached at more than 6.7 million tons, including nearly 3.1 million tons for exploitation and over 3.6 million tons for cultivation. Its export turnover was around US$ 7 billion.
The sector is considered as one of Vietnam’s key economic ones which creating around 9 million jobs for local workers. However, around 80 percent of employees have not had enough high-tech skills.
Amid to the challenge, the VCCI collaborated with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise to open many training courses to improve the quality of human resources in this field.
Under the cooperation, NHO will strengthen connection with the VCCI, professional vocational training centers and enterprises to train 500 employees in the Mekong Delta and South- central region.
Earlier, model of vocational education was expanded in the fields of restaurant & hotel, garment and textile, wood processing and handicrafts.
