Nine provinces provided seeds to overcome natural disaster

The Prime Minister decided to provide nine provinces tons of free seeds to overcome losses caused by natural disaster.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was tasked to provide 2,016 tons of rice seeds; 325 tons of corn seeds and 58 tons of vegetable seed from the national reserve to support the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, the central provinces of Ha TInh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue  which suffered losses caused by flooding.

Vinh Phuc Province will be given 200 tons of rice seeds, 50 tons of corn seeds and 8 tons of veggies seeds. Ha Giang Province will be supplied 16 tons of rice seeds, 50 tons of corn seeds and 5 tons of veggies seeds. Lao Cai Province will receive 100 tons of rice seeds, 60 tons of corn seeds and 10 tons of vegetable seeds. Yen Bai will be supported 100 tons of rice seeds, 60 tons of corn seeds and 8 tons of vegetable seeds.

The PM asked people’s committees in provinces to take accountable in managing and allocating the seeds to help inhabitants as per the regulation.

On behalf of the PM, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue signed a decision to provide salt to the central province of Ha Tinh where faced heavy rains. As per the decision, the Ministry of Finance will give 1,500 tons of salt gratis to the province.
