Nha Be District supports poor households for Tet festive season

Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and the Offices of the Delegation of Members of the National Assembly distributed presents to the poor and impoverished households in Nha Be District on occasion of Tet holiday season.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and the Offices of the Delegation of Members of the National Assembly distributed presents to the poor and impoverished households in Nha Be District on occasion of Tet holiday season.

Representatives of the People's Council and Offices of the Delegation of Members of the National Assembly arrived in Nha Be District to distribute gifts to the poor households living in that area.

The People’s Committee of the District said there were about 351 poor households but almost 2,294 were those who were close to the poverty line, while 24 households were beneficiaries of social policies.

The decision was thus made to give VND500,000 (US$23.7) to the poor and those close to the poverty line and VND1 million ($47.4) to the beneficiaries of social policies.

District leaders also encouraged enterprises and benefactors in the districts to support the poor in having a happy Tet festive season.
