Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (Samco) officially started work on new Mien Dong (eastern) Coach Station in the eastern gateway to HCMC February 10th.
This package comprises the station’s foundation, main terminal and infrastructures for the entire station area.
The new station will be built over 16 hectares comprising 12.3 hectares in District 9 and 3.7 hectares in the neighboring province of Binh Duong’s Di An district.
Once being built, the station will have the total capacity of 7 million passengers a year or 50,000 a day; serve 200 interprovincial transport routes to reach 47 provinces and cities, 15 city bus routes and two international routes to Cambodia.
New Mien Dong Coach Station will connect with Suoi Tien station of the city metro route.
The first bid package is scheduled to complete by the end of this year to remove the existing Mien Dong station from Binh Thanh district.
