A conference participants, held by the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, the World Bank and the European Union in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, will meet to discuss the improvement of healthcare services for achieving universal healthcare on March 24 to 25.
The jointly-organized conference will be held in two days, said the Ministry at a press meeting on March 18 in Hanoi.
In Vietnam, medical clinics are located in residential blocks so it plays an important role in taking care of residents’ health condition at a cheap cost. Moreover, they contribute greatly to implementing the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals.
As per the health ministry's statistics show that the rate of medical clinics in communes with doctors takes up 73. 5 percent; 96.4 percent of medical stations have nurses or maternity nurses.
The health insurance coverage rate of the population is 71.6 per cent and around 78.8 percent of clinics in communes provide treatment for insurance card holders.
